Nutrition refers to the process in which various substances and energy in food play a role in maintaining bodily health and physiological functions. It is essential for the normal functioning of the body, including providing energy, promoting growth and repair, supporting the immune system, and maintaining organ function.

 

The human body requires a variety of different nutrients to meet its needs for proper functioning. The main nutrients include carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, and minerals. These nutrients exist in different proportions in food and are digested and absorbed in the body to provide the energy and nutrition needed by cells and tissues. Fats serve as an important energy source, as well as maintaining body temperature and protecting internal organs. Vitamins and minerals are micronutrients that the body requires in small quantities but play crucial roles in many physiological processes. 

 

Maintaining a balanced and diverse diet is crucial for obtaining adequate nutrition. Different types of foods provide different combinations of nutrients, so consuming a variety of foods ensures that we get all the necessary nutrients.
